Biomass Gasification Poly-generation Project

Project name

Almond Shell Gasification Project for 9 Million Kcal Thermal Oil Boiler Co-generating Biochar for in Hebei Province

Project date

Sep,2021

Project overview

The project was put into operation in September 2021. The almond shells and coconut shells have been used as the feedstock for three downdraft fixed bed gasifiers to supply heat for a 9 million kcal thermal oil boiler, co-generating biochar. Since its operation, 42,700 tons of almond shells and coconut shells have been consumed annually, generating 108,000 tons of steam. Meanwhile, 12,000 tons of biochar have be produced annually, replacing 22,600 tons of standard coal which indicates a reduction on CO2 emissions by 60,000 tons annually. The emission of boiler tail gas can meet the emission standards of natural gas boilers. All biochar is sold as carbon products. There is no emissions of tar, sewage or ash for the entire system.
