The Greek project was completed and put into operation in early 2017. The gas generated through the gasification of olive residue has been used for power generation, with an annual power generation of 3.2 million kW.h, and an annual consumption of olive residue of about 0.56 million tons. It has replaced standard coal of 0.25 million tons per year, representing a reduction on CO2 emissions by 0.67 million tons. All olive residues have been recycled as organic fertilizers for the farmland. There is no emissions of tar, sewage or ash for the entire system.
