Project name
Coconut/palm Shell Gasification Project for Heating Kiln Co-generating Active Carbon in Ghana
Project date
July, 2019
Project overview

The project, located in Ghana, Africa, was completed and put into operation in 2019, with an annual consumption of 10,500 tons of olive shell, an annual steam supply of 28,000 tons, and an annual output of about 1,900 tons of olive shell charcoal. It has replaced 6000 tons of standard coal per year, representing a reduction on CO2 emissions by 15,000 tons. The emission of boiler tail gas was up to the local emission standards. The palm shell charcoal is sold to make other high-value carbon products. There is no emissions of tar, sewage or ash for the entire system.
